Hi, there! It is impossible to keep up this blog for my own website when so many businesses want ones of their own! I am extremely busy right now, but if you have a writing need you would like to talk over, let me know.

Welcome!

I cannot keep up with my own blogs because customers want theirs! I guess that is good. I am buried in work right now, but that’s the purpose of my business! I have been taking some time to examine the legal liabilities of blogging, and insider expert tips. When you read a blog that looks easy, you can rest assured the skill that went into writing it is just like when you watch an ice skater, and it looks easy. Writing blogs on business websites is not really for amateurs!

Whew! Time is just flying by! Things have been busy on this end. I’ve been writing a series of articles for a business website going up soon. The business owner also wants a series of blogs created. Those have been keeping me busy.

This particular small business is an subject I know nothing about (except as a consumer), so it has been interesting for me to learn along the way. Small business and start-up owners have to be very sharp. This owner certainly is since he has about 30 years of experience.

Finally there is one day without the oppressive heat and humidity of summer! I recently attended a local business organization’s monthly luncheon and networking. The idea of marketing this business is foreign to me and I am still finding out about it. Send me suggestions!

It is a still, cool morning and stepping outside, everything is calm. Scents of flowers hang in the air, and a deep feeling of calmness seems to overtake my body. If only the entire day could feel like this! But we get busy, distracted, in a hurry and the early morning feeling recedes. I am glad I don’t do creative writing because it’s much harder. I like the concrete, factual or otherwise world of business writing. What do you need written?

Goodness! The last day of May for 2009! It’s been a busy month. This website went live, and I am still learning how to manage it. The business cards and brochures saw their final graphic design, and should be back from the printer this week. The university where I teach part-time contacted me about the fall courses. And the temperature here in the midwest soared into summer. What projects requiring writing may I help you with?

Today I am not writing. Instead I am mowing the grass and cleaning the attic.
However, this past week the work was writing and editing a document which is a compliance report from an organization which receives federal funds. You know those feds, they want reports and in writing and in DETAIL!

So you have to be meticulous in what is said, and how it is said. Many people have to review the document, and typos are the least of any worries.

Right now this document is about 135 pages, with many attachments, appendices, and website references to even longer documents.

Mowing the grass and cleaning the attic are easier!

Today I am working on a business proposal for a small business who is going up for a large contract with a major manufacturing firm located in the midwest.

The small business owner has no experience with RFP’s (Requests for Proposals). Through emails and phone calls, I am drafting the proposal, subject to her approval.

While they are not a secret, unless you have experience in the world of written business proposals, it’s hard for the small guys to get an entry into the world of big contracts. I’ve done this for 30 years now, and the proposals I write are extremely competitive.

What do you think you might need help with in terms of writing?
